Z – I have already found a nice
flat.
E – Really? How much is the
rent?
Z – It’s 2,000 zlotys per month.
E – Isn’t that too much?
Z – I don’t think so. Other
flats in this area are much more
expensive. In my opinion it’s a
good price.
E – Where is the flat located?
Z – It’s in a block of flats in
the city center of Warsaw, on
Maple Street, next to the bank,
on the 2nd floor.
E – It sounds good. It’s a very
good location. How big is it?
And what is its condition?
Z – It’s a new three-bedroom
flat. There is also a large
kitchen, a nice bathroom and
even a balcony.
E – What is the equipment of the
flat?
Z – The flat is fully furnished.
In each bedroom, there is a
comfortable bed, a wardrobe, a
beautiful rug and even some
pictures on the walls. In the
kitchen, there is a microwave, a
big fridge, plates and
silverware. In the bathroom,
there is a large mirror, a
shower and a new washing
machine. Everything looks great.
E – It’s a really nice flat. Can
we see it today?
Z – I think so. Let me call the
owner. I will ask him about
that.

The photo was taken in front of
the new house on a beautiful
summer day.
In the foreground, there is a
family that is moving in a house
they have just bought. In the
background, there is a white
house with a nice porch.
On the left side of the photo, a
man standing on
the bed of a yellow truck
is passing a box to his wife who
stands on the right. In front of
them, their young son is riding
a bike. Their daughter is going
to the house carrying a big box.
They have a lot of different
stuff around them. There are two
bar chairs, a lamp, a mattress,
a rug and several boxes.
They are probably pretty tired,
but I think they are also very
happy and excited.

I chose the photo number 3.
There is a nice cottage house
there. It’s big and probably
very comfortable. I grew up in
the countryside and I like this
type of houses very much. The
house is close to nature and the
neighborhood is beautiful. The
commute system in Britain is
excellent, so there won’t be any
problems getting to work.
I didn’t choose the photo number
2. There is a block of flats
there. I wouldn’t like to live
so close to my neighbors.
Moreover, the flats are pretty
small.
I also didn’t choose the photo
number 1. There are terraced
houses there. Because they are
close to the city center the
rent is very high.

Z - How about writing an ad in
the student bulletin that we are
looking for a roommate?
E - That’s a great idea! So, who are we looking for?
Z - It could be a boy our age,
for example, a student from our
school. What do you think?
E - It sounds OK. What should he be like?
Z - He should be friendly,
helpful and cheerful.
E - Right! And he should be funny too. How about his hobbies?
Z - He should like doing sports,
playing computer games and
playing an instrument.
E - I don’t agree. If he plays a trumpet or drums, we won’t have
peace and quiet.
Z - You are right! No
instruments.
E - What behavior will we not accept?
Z - I my opinion, he should
neither smoke nor drink alcohol.
E - I agree. Can you write it down?
Z - Sure. No problem.
Zadnie 2 - Opis ilustracji
The photo was taken in the park on a sunny summer day. In the
foreground there are two teenage
girls sitting on a bench. They
seem like good friends.
The girl on the left is black. She has long black hair and is
wearing a purple blouse. The
girl on the right is white. She
has short blond hair is wearing
a pink blouse.
In the background, there are several trees.
The girl on the right is sad. She probably has serious problems.
She was crying. The girl on the
left is consoling her friend.
The photo is very sad, but I believe that everything will be all
right.

I would ask person from the photo number 3 for directions. This
young woman is on a walk with
her child. She probably lives
nearby, she knows the
neighborhood, so she could help
me. She also seems not to hurry.
I wouldn’t ask the man from the photo number 2. He only works in
this shop, so he could be from a
different city or a different
part of the city.
I also wouldn’t ask the woman from the photo number 1. She doesn’t
have time to talk. She is in a
big hurry. She is probably late
for work.

Z – How about going somewhere
and finding a job during
holidays?
E – That’s a good idea. Where would you like to go?
Z – We can go to the seaside,
for example, to Sopot. It is a
tourist town. There is always a
lot of work there in the summer.
E – What would you like to do?
Z – We can work in a restaurant
as waitresses.
E – OK. But I think this job is very tiring.
Z – Yes, it is. But we can work
from Monday to Friday. And at
weekends we can do some
sightseeing.
E – It sounds good. But do we have any skills?
Z – I think so. We are good with
our hands. We speak three
languages. We can also count
very quickly. We are
hard-working, patient and like
working with people, too.
E – That’s true. What would you like to do with the money you
earn?
Z – I would like to buy a new
laptop. My laptop is pretty slow
and doesn’t work very well.
E – Perfect. It is going to be a great vacation.
Zadnie 2 - Opis ilustracji
The photo was taken in a vineyard during harvest. There are
several young men who are
working very hard. They may be
students working during vacation
to earn some money.
In the foreground there are three men pouring grapes from buckets
to large baskets. In the
background, other men are
working in the rows of vines.
Everyone is wearing work
clothes.
These men look a little tired and weary, but I think they enjoy
the job and they are good at it.

I chose to be a babysitter. I like children very much. I have four
younger siblings and I love
playing with them. I also have
experience working with children
and know how to take care of
them. I worked as an au-pair
last summer.
I didn’t choose to be a waiter because this job is very tiring and
I would have to be on my feet a
lot.
I also didn’t choose the job number 3. In my opinion handing out
leaflets is terribly boring and
poorly paid.
Życzę przyjemnej nauki!
